Taken from the upcoming 'Homecoming- EP' Overstand is a song articulating the current position. Overstanding the way that the system is and the challenges we face as humans enables us to cut those challenges down into a space that makes sense for us. Its overstanding that existence can be resistance and not all acts of resistance have to come from a place of anger and frustration, but they can come from a place of love, livity and peace.

The stone the builder refused,  Often comes at a price,
You Have to over-stand rates,
To escape any strife,  But what’s the price of peace,
Deny or cease, of minds we speak.
What’s righteously, mine to be?
Silently imma be free,
Though the system spites us,
No longer responding to whiteness,
Does it define us?
If my only response is silence  When life is this Vibrant.
No longer focused on pressure,
Without pushing the joy.
To exist the system,
We have to build to destroy.

Self Reflection’s the answer,  To many unwritten questions.

Perpetually blessed,with knowledge we step,
Intellectually met with regret,
Because of the culture I rep.
But its bless so I say less
Protecting my peace,
The system will never win,
Coz its marked by the beast.

Overstand as a people we’re perpetually blessed,
Though the system is designed to frustrate and stress,
You could guess who they protect then elect.
Know your melanin is the halo that blesses your crown,
A Royalty to spoil we, whilst antennas hold us down.
Know that resistance in all forms comes with protecting your piece,
Your silence can be the shield that saves you when you’re feeling weak.
Though it feels bleak the burden is not always ours to carry,
So protect your peace and remember… Moving with love.. is what makes us happy.
